Welcome to Culloden Surgery
Christmas & New Year - Closures and Repeat Prescription Requests
We will be closed on the 27th & 28th December 2021 and on the 3rd & 4th January 2022. On these days all telephone calls will be directed to the out of hours service so urgent medical matters can be attended to.
In order to prepare for Christmas, please order your repeat prescriptions early to ensure you have adequate supplies over the holiday period. You should allow 5 working days for a prescription to be processed, sent to pharmacy and be ready for collection.
There are further by appointment only clinics at Smithton Church for our patients. These are being held from the 23-25th November from 8.30am-12pm and 1-5pm. These are for patients aged 70+ and those in at risk categories. You should receive a letter from NHS Highland with an appointment time.
You must have had a 24 week gap between your second dose and your Covid booster.
We are aware of issues for patients trying to get through to the hub. We have escalated your feedback to the management team at NHS Highland. They have informed us that patients experiencing issues can contact the NHS Highland Feedback Team on 01463 705997 to discuss their concerns.
Unfortunately these issue are out with the control of our practice. Please be assured that we are in contact with NHS Highland daily to feedback the information that we are being given by patients and to press for an improved service.
Clinic information is available on this link. This information is updated regularly so please keep checking it for the latest guidance. When you click on this link you must select South and Mid from the options on the left hand side of the screen to find our clinics.
When looking down the clinic list there is reference to a vaccine portal on some dates. To access this portal you need to register or use the password you created when logging into to access your vaccine certificate as advised in the FAQ taken from the site below:
FAQ:Your patients will need to self-register and remember their username and password each time they log in to the national portal. Many people already have a username and password for the portal to book appointments, but they may not realise. This is the same username and password they were issued when looking on-line for their ‘vaccination status’ or ‘vaccination certificate’. Appointments and vaccination status are held in the same national system.
Despite COVID restrictions easing, the Scottish Government requires General Practice and other healthcare settings to have different infection control and physical distancing guidance to other places such as hospitality and shops. This is to help reduce the risk to Practice staff and to people attending the Practice who may be at greater risk if they catch Covid 19.
The following rules still apply in General Practice:
- wearing of face coverings by patients and the public (unless you are exempt)
- physical distancing of 1 metre within waiting rooms
- contact your Practice by telephone in the first instance rather than attending the surgery
- wearing of PPE by staff
- screening of all patients for Covid 19 symptoms
Please support your Practice team by complying with this guidance.
Culloden Surgery is a five partner GP training practice on the outskirts of Inverness, primarily serving the villages of Balloch, Culloden and Smithton. We have both male and female doctors and provide a comprehensive nursing service, with clinics held in a modern building which is situated in the centre of Culloden.
With patients' needs in mind, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know via our feedback function. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
